The Happy Tree Friends television series which was launched in 2006 contains 21 minute long episodes, unlike the internet shows which are only several of minutes long.
The Happy Tree Friend characters all show human characteristics in the way they act and interact with each other. Almost every episode shares the same plot. A selection of the group are introduced as stars of the episode, they start out doing normal human things but end up suffering an ill fate through sheer bad luck. There is plenty of animated violence in each episode which provides most of the humour.
